Budgeting 101

Here I’ll discuss the basics of budgeting. First of all, what is budgeting? Budgeting is knowing how much you earn, then setting a limit of how much you spend. Here are the basic steps that you should take to budget your way back to a healthy financial life.

- Set a goal. This can be paying off an old credit card debt or saving enough to buy a new car. It’s important you do some financial planning for the sake of your budget.

- Track everything. This is the hardest part. This one requires constant work for at least one month. Here, you”ll jot down everything you spend in detail. You can keep a list on your phone if it’s easier to keep track of.

- Reduce your expenses. Set a realistic amount that you can reduce. Don’t make it too difficult or you’ll quit. Try it out for a month and see how much money you saved. You might just be surprised at how much money you’ll have and how easy it was.
